Our Vestry
The elected lay leaders who hold the parish in trust, alongside the clergy.
What a Vestry Does
In the Episcopal Church the vestry is the body of lay people elected by the congregation to govern the parish with the rector. It is responsible for the parish’s temporal life: the budget, the buildings, the endowment, employment of staff, and the calling of a rector when the position falls vacant. Authority is shared rather than held by clergy alone, which is why laypeople and clergy make these decisions together.
