Service Times
Sunday worship is Holy Eucharist Rite I at 8:00 AM, a quiet traditional-language service without music; Christian Education for adults and youth at 9:15 AM; and Choral Eucharist Rite II at 10:30 AM. A Healing Service with Holy Eucharist and anointing is held every Tuesday at 11:30 AM in St. Alban’s Chapel, and a Celtic service on the second Sunday of the month at 5:00 PM. The 10:30 service is livestreamed.
Parking and the Front Door
St. Stephen’s is at 212 N Tulane Ave in Oak Ridge. Visitor parking is in the west parking lot, and the main entrance is the red doors at the front of the building. The entrance is accessible. If you would like someone to meet you at the door, call the parish office at (865) 483-8497 beforehand and we will arrange it.
Your First Sunday
Come exactly as you are. There is no dress code to meet and no expectation to fit, only a seat saved for you. You are free simply to sit, listen, and take everything in at your own pace, with no obligation to participate before you feel ready. Everything you need is printed in the bulletin or said aloud, so nothing assumes prior knowledge. If you have questions or would like someone to walk alongside you, a member of our welcome team would be glad to greet you and help you feel at home.
Children Are Welcome
God put the wiggle in children, and you do not have to suppress it when we meet together as his family. Children belong in worship, because faith is caught and not taught. Busy Boxes are available in the narthex for children to use during services, a Calm Room is available for children and caregivers who need a quieter space, and Sunday School classes are offered for children and youth. Communion and Belonging
All baptized Christians are welcome to receive Communion, and anyone who would prefer not to receive may come forward for a blessing instead. You are under no obligation to give, to sign anything, or to introduce yourself.
